"The Other" Film Screening and Community Dialogue
The Community Justice Center invites the Burlington community to join us for a dialogue on the ongoing violence in Palestine and Israel. This facilitated conversation is part of a series of events that includes the screening of The Other, a film about the complex relationship between Israelis and Palestinians and the transformative journey that follows when they are faced with meeting ‘the other’ amidst violence and occupation. The event series, sponsored by the Burlington City Council, creates the space for deeper understanding and new possibilities.
We each come to this topic from different places. For some, this matter is personal and longstanding; for others, caring about the futures of Palestinians and Israelis is itself a connection. Dialogue cannot by itself stop harm or replace needed political action, but how we speak with one another matters.
Wherever you stand, we invite you to join us as we listen with care and strengthen community bonds.
Please note that both events are free to attend, and we highly recommend participating in both. The film screening will be first come, first served at the venue with a seating cap of 200, while registration is required to attend the dialogue and will have a seating limit of 60.
